I’ve been working at my computer today, listening to my Pandora music mixes, and I got it into my head that I’d like to include some of the Dr. Who soundtrack music in my Pandora playlists. I couldn’t remember who wrote the newest music beyond his first name – Murray – so I decided to Google “Dr. Who Music”.
What I found was a whole page devoted to people who have worked on remixing Dr. Who music. Amazing. There are so many different versions of the theme song, some traditional, some with different overlays and even a series of stories about Mr. Dalek. (Trust me, the Christmas one is definitely a keeper. I’m going to have to download that and keep it to play instead of the Night Before Christmas.) So, if you are as geeky as me and you just need to have at least a half dozen different versions of the Dr. Who theme and some amusing Dalek stories, go here and poke around.
Kudos to www.ladyyatexel.com who owns the artwork above. Go check out her other Dr. Who artwork.
I missed this past weekends episode of Dr. Who because I was being feted at my late birthday party by some friends. Since then, I’ve been stalking the Video On Demand area of my cable, just waiting for it to become available. I’m still waiting.
Tonight, I went in search of something clever as an email notification for my incoming work mail. I currently have something from World of Warcraft which says, “More Work?”. Sadly, it states exactly what incoming email means to me, so I’m kinda sick of hearing it. I was hoping for something a bit more fun so I went looking for Dr. Who wav files. I did find some, but nothing hit the mark. I want something cheery, so maybe I’ll go for the Monty Python call of “Bring out your dead!!”, because that’s always cheery and good for a giggle, right? Um, maybe not…
While poking around and making K9 say “accessing master” a few hundred times, I found the below photo. Ok.. FREAKING ADORABLE!!! She’s got her own website at http://chicsprog.tumblr.com/ but this photo is WhoBaby, all the way. I love it!!
I’m gonna come clean.
I have a guilty little secret. Every year I say I’m not going to do it again and then the opportunity arises and I feel the bite and draw and I engage in this once again.
I watch Celebrity Apprentice. I know, I know.. it’s shameful, but I do it. And while I’m coming clean, I may as well admit that I watch America’s Next Top Model. Add to that Dexter and Dr. Who and that rounds out my television diet. Consider this, though. According to the A.C. Nielsen Co., the average American watches more than 4 hours of TV each day (or 28 hours/week, or 2 months of nonstop TV-watching per year). In a 65-year life, that person will have spent 9 years glued to the tube.
Celebrity Apprentice has successfully convinced me that Joan Rivers is a lying conniving person and that Dionne Warwick is a pushy, mean woman. Maybe it’s the editing that the show employs, but whatever it is, it’s guaranteed that I do not like either of these icons and would not support them nor anything they would appear in. Given that this can be the possible outcome for celebrities after being on a show like this, why-oh-why, I have to ask, would you do that kind of thing?
Maybe it’s wrong of me, but I was happy that Dionne was fired tonight.
