I’ll never forget being behind a German couple at Yosemite. I was by the window on a tram on a sunny day and the woman in front of me had her arm out the window. The hair was limned in cheery sunlight and the smell made me contort in all kinds of ways to try not to smell it as the gentle breeze wafted back my way.
